This is a rather superior example of a genuine antique 19th century English Victorian period gilt over Mantle Mirror in a water gilt on gesso timber frame.
The mirror is of generous and impressive size and is basically of vertical oval form with triangular supplementary triangular sections at the base on either side. The vertical oval section is well profiled features a central raised ’string of pearls’ beading .On either side of the base are triangular shaped areas framed with foliate embellished scrolls in the French Louis XV influence which visually support the central oval section.
Condition: The water gilt frame rame is in excellent original condition however there are minor losses to the reflection on the original mercury silvered mirror plate. The mirror plate may be replaced if required.
