Although the name C.H. Meylan Brassus is relatively unknown, its presence among high-end watchmakers has been a storied one since its founding by Charles-Henri Meylan in Le Brassus, Switzerland in 1878. Underneath the ultra-stylish 18k gold case with dramatic, brushed bullhorn lugs is a 17-jewel manual movement by a maker who has collaborated with the likes of Cartier, Piguet, LeCoultre, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, and supplied movements to at least 110 high-end jewellers and watchmakers. A masculine yet chic statement of taste for the watch collector or sartorial gentleman.
After the death of Charles Meylan the company was sold to Baume et Mercier, then to Piaget, and then to Cartier. Distant relative, Georges-Henri Meylan then aquired the C.H. Melyan brand back to the family and absorbed it into one of the world's finest watch companies, H. Moser & Cie and Audemars Piguet.
