Guillerme et Chambron
Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron met in 1940 while imprisoned in a forced labor camp during World War II. After the war, they reconnected in Lille, France, and in 1949, along with cabinetmaker Émile Dariosecq, they founded the furniture company Votre Maison.
Design philosophy and style
Guillerme, trained at the École Boulle, focused on designing furniture that combined functionality with aesthetic appeal. Chambron managed client relations and marketing. Their pieces, primarily made from waxed oak, featured clean lines and were often accented with ceramic tiles or vibrant upholstery.
Enduring legacy
Votre Maison produced over two thousand models during the latter half of the twentieth century, leaving a significant mark on mid-century design. Today, Guillerme et Chambron's work is recognized for its timeless quality and continues to be sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts.
