About this piece
The Joy is a task chair by Orangebox, the British workplace furniture maker that has been part of Steelcase since 2018. It was designed by Orangebox’s in-house team as a no-fuss chair: the adjustments people actually use, and nothing to get in the way. This one is the drafting-height version, built for standing-height desks and benches.
The black mesh back lets air through and keeps the chair light to look at. It is paired with a grey fabric seat and a chrome foot ring, on a black five-star base. The base sits on glides, so the chair stays where you put it when you climb on.
