About this piece

Pair of 18 karat yellow gold ear clips by Gilbert Albert (1930–2019), Switzerland, designed with an interchangeable system that converts into eight distinct configurations. The sculptural ‘comma’ form incorporates a recessed section that accepts 13 mm spheres, allowing the look to be changed by swapping the inserts.

Includes eight pairs of 13 mm spheres: rock crystal, black onyx, blue chalcedony, rhodochrosite, amazonite, red resin, ruby zoisite, and one unidentified pair. Rear clip fittings secure the spheres in place and include small silicone inserts to soften the hold on the ear.

Marked: 750 (gold purity) and Gilbert Albert monogram.
Dimensions: 2.8 cm L (gold clip)
Total weight (pair, without spheres): 13.5 g

Albert was a Swiss jeweller known for contemporary design and, at one point, designed watches for Omega.
