About this piece
This beautiful 18th-century French provincial walnut commode carries the kind of warmth and presence that only centuries of history can bring.
Sourced from France, it features a classic "two-over-two" drawer configuration, balancing two smaller top drawers over two spacious, full-width drawers below. The solid walnut construction has aged into a rich, deep patina, highlighting a gorgeous natural grain full of authentic, rustic character and time-worn distressing.
Adding a touch of elegance to its sturdy form, the piece is adorned with ornate, rococo-style cast brass pull handles and central keyhole escutcheons, which contrast beautifully against the dark wood.
From the subtle molded framing on the drawer fronts to the gently scalloped lower apron resting on brief bracket feet, every detail speaks to the enduring charm of traditional French craftsmanship.
It is a striking, soulful piece that effortlessly anchors a room with historic charm.
