About this piece

Mid 19th century American Federalist giltwood convex “bullseye” mirror of porthole form. The crest is surmounted by a gilt timber eagle, with acanthus and laurel leaf carving framing the circular surround. Three candle arms are mounted to the lower section; they are original to the piece and designed for taper candles. The sizeable convex mirror plate appears to be original.
