George Nelson Pedestal Coffee Table for Herman Miller
An iconic mid-century design by George Nelson, originally designed in 1954 for Herman Miller and made in the USA.
This elegant round coffee table features a crisp white laminate top supported by Nelson’s distinctive polished aluminium pedestal base. The beautifully simple form and sculptural base are characteristic of Nelson’s influential approach to modern American furniture, making this a timeless piece for both contemporary and mid-century interiors.
The table presents very well, with very light surface scratches to the laminate top and minor wear consistent with age. Overall, it is in very good vintage condition and retains the clean, understated appearance for which the design is renowned.

Over time, Herman Miller built a reputation for blending aesthetics with function. That philosophy carried into the late 20th century with innovations like the Aeron Chair, which redefined office seating and became a symbol of early tech culture.
