Produced by R Fowler Pottery in Sydney between circa 1915 and 1940, these stoneware bung jars were made for industrial and pantry use, finished in classic Bristol glaze for durability and chemical resistance. Fowler was one of Australia’s most significant early commercial potteries, supplying robust vessels to breweries, food producers, and domestic stores, where function dictated form. Graduated in scale and intended to work together, this set of three reads as a single composition, measured, balanced, and deeply resolved. Grouped, they carry a restrained architectural weight that translates seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
