Vico Magistretti’s Veranda sofa for Cassina, designed in 1983 and produced in Italy in the 1980s. A considered example of Italian postmodern design, the piece was conceived around the “veranda” as a threshold between indoors and outdoors, encouraging varied postures for sitting, lounging and reclining.
The sofa features independently adjustable seating elements with folding backrests that convert into headrests, enabling a shift from upright support to extended relaxation. This example retains its original red felted wool upholstery. The mechanical elements have been professionally refurbished and operate smoothly.
