About this piece
OVERVIEW
An exquisite, museum-quality statement piece of traditional East Javanese craftsmanship.
This authentic antique Madurese wedding bed (Ranjang Madura or Dipan Madura) features hand- carved solid teak construction with original polychrome lacquering, vermilion red tones, and hand-gilded gold leaf detailing.
Featuring traditional Peranakan Chinese geometric fretwork combined with classic Javanese floral and animal relief motifs, this enclosed canopy bed sits on dramatic (Kaki Macan) cabriole legs. A magnificent focal point for high- end interior spaces, boutique accommodation, or fine art collections.
