About this piece
Traditionally used in Chinese households for washing feet, bathing and carrying water, these antique Chinese goose foot buckets were an important part of everyday life. Made from timber with distinctive carved handles and scalloped backs, they were originally painted red, a colour associated with luck, happiness and prosperity in Chinese culture. Over time, many have been repainted, with each bucket now showing its own signs of age and use.
Today, these antique Chinese wooden buckets make unusual decorative pieces for the same purpose or as a shoe storage option at an entryway or leave as is for a talking point in your home.
