The construction presents the material as structure, with a solid pedestal block supporting a thick square slab top, reducing visual interruption and allowing the geological pattern of the stone to carry the composition. Pieces of this type emerged through European stone workshops adapting architectural fabrication methods into domestic furniture during the 1980s, bringing the weight and permanence of building materials into living interiors. At 80 centimetres square and 60 centimetres high, the table sits between a coffee table and a low dining table, substantial enough to anchor lounge seating while remaining compact enough for apartment spaces.
