Antique Chippendale Revival Parlour Set – Armchair & Matching Corner Gossip Chair
An exquisite, matching 2-piece antique parlour set in the classic Chippendale Revival style (dating from the late 19th to early 20th century). This set includes one high-back traditional armchair and one rare, highly decorative corner chair (historically known as a gossip or roundabout chair).
Crafted with high-quality, rich timber, both pieces feature beautifully detailed, pierced ribbon-and-scroll back splats, classic out-turned arms, and elegant cabriole legs ending in traditional pad feet.
They share the exact same matching patterned cream upholstery fabric, making them a perfect statement vignette for a hallway, entry nook, master bedroom, or formal living space. The drop-in seat cushions lift out easily, making them very simple to reupholster if you ever want to update the fabric to match your decor.
Condition: Excellent vintage/antique condition. Both frames are structurally solid, tight-jointed, sturdy, and do not wobble. The timber finish has been well-cared for, displaying a rich, deep patina with only minor surface wear consistent with age.
Upholstery: Clean, tidy, and in excellent condition with no major stains, tears, or signs of heavy wear.
