Framed original wall artwork by Angie Goto, a Deaf Australian artist recognised for figurative and abstract interpretations of her surroundings. Born Deaf, she brings a distinct approach to colour, imagery, and form. Goto studied Fine Art and Graphic Design in Newcastle and Sydney.

Her return to painting was profiled in the short film Angie, a Tropfest finalist in 2015. Subsequent solo exhibitions include 19 Karen Gallery (Queensland), Art To Art Gallery (Melbourne), and Dyer Arts Center (New York). She has been a finalist in the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize, Paddington Art Prize, Fisher’s Ghost Art Prize, and Michael Reid’s National Emerging Art Prize, among others.

Alongside her studio practice, Goto works part-time as an Artist Educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and the Powerhouse Museum, delivering programs for Deaf and hard of hearing audiences. She also frequently collaborates with the Art Gallery of NSW, Hazelhurst Arts Centre, and Campbelltown Arts Centre.
