This is a lovely and high quality genuine antique English later 1800s Victorian ( last quarter of the 19th century ) two door Side Cabinet superbly made in the French Louis XV manner.
The cabinet features a concave shaped pediment and the rest is of rectangular horizontal form a pair of side by side doors with a full width shelf within and stands on a plinth base.
Due to the quality the decorative feature embellishments are many. The cabinet as a whole is finished in figured Walnut honey colour to the sides and door panels while the top, door frames and base are finished in selected and highly figured richly coloured decorative Walnut Burl. The pediment, sides, door frame and panels beside the doors are all decoratively line inlaid so as to form panels. The inner door panels are profusely embellished with applied gilt moldings and central mounts as is the bottom of the pediment. The vertical panels from which the doors are hung feature gilt brass applied mounts both at the top and at the bottom.
