The Lalique "Hedera" vase is a notable piece of mid-century French crystal, characterized by its intricate, relief-moulded ivy leaf design that wraps around the body of the vase.
"Hedera" is the Latin genus name for Ivy.
Design Date: The Hedera pattern was first introduced in 1963
Markings: Signed "Lalique France" in acid-etched script on the base, confirming its authenticity and post-1945 production.
The Hedera vase was designed by Marie-Claude Lalique (1935–2003), the granddaughter of the company’s founder, René Lalique. She took over the creative direction of the company after her father, Marc Lalique, passed away
Stylistic Transition: This piece reflects the transition from the structured Art Deco forms of the 1930s to a more fluid, botanical elegance typical of the 1960s.
