A Silvered Metal Column Table Lamp
European, 20th century
The column shaft of substantial cylindrical form, cast in silvered metal and articulated in three register sections divided by moulded annular rings, each section carved with deep alternating flutes and stylised acanthus-leaf guilloche ornament of pronounced relief; surmounted by a finely detailed Corinthian capital with two tiers of acanthus leaves and scrolled volutes of good definition; raised on a circular stepped base of plain polished form; now fitted for electricity with a later white linen shade of generous oval form.
