An antique silver plated teapot retailed by Hardy Bros Ltd of Sydney and Brisbane - the Australian jeweller founded in 1853 and still trading today. Made in England for the Australian market, and properly marked: E.P. A1, the heaviest grade of silver plating, and WARRANTED HARD SOLDERED, meaning the handle and spout joints were guaranteed to withstand real use with boiling water. The two-city retailer's stamp helps date it to the early twentieth century. Low, wide and generous at 22cm across. Lovely in use or as a mantel piece.
CONDITION: vintage pre-owned with patina, tarnishing and age-related wear consistent with silver plate. Please refer to photos as they form part of the description.
