Lithograph depicting a male nude by Erwin Lang (1886–1962), artist and later member of the Vienna Secession. Lang studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts under Alfred Roller and was the son of women’s rights activist Marie Lang. In 1911 he exhibited with Egon Schiele in a Hagenbund exhibition, of which he was a member. His practice is noted particularly for woodcuts, pioneering unusual light effects through simplified drawing. During World War I he was captured by the Russians, escaped to China, and returned to Austria in 1920; he joined the Vienna Secession in 1946.
Condition: Very good overall with minor creasing. Recently professionally framed in a modern black frame with a charcoal-coloured matte.
