English Victorian solid oak two-height bookcase/display cabinet in the Renaissance Gothic Revival style, late 19th century. The well-profiled cornice sits over a pediment with a bold dentil frieze, a motif repeated on the lower frieze.
The upper section features two glazed doors enclosing four full-width adjustable shelves. The deeper lower cabinet presents a full-width raised linenfold-carved frieze drawer over double recessed, blind-panelled doors with raised linenfold carving, opening to a full-width interior shelf. Additional linenfold embellishments appear on the full-height engaged pilasters to both upper and lower sections. The whole is supported on a projecting plinth base.
