Born in 1957, Malo is a 1981 graduate of the Massana School and has presented over 90 individual and group exhibitions in Spain and internationally. Since 1991, he has worked on the restoration of artistic heritage, producing ceramic copies of Mudejar art for monuments including the Aljafería, Zaragoza Cathedral, the Utebo tower and the Alhambra in Granada. He serves on the organising committee of the CERCO International Ceramic Fair, alongside his ongoing studio and didactic work focused on Mudejar art.
Malo’s practice is grounded in ancestral traditions, primitive forms and interpretations of nature, uniting technique and gesture. He works with high‑temperature clays and self-produced glazes, bringing together references to the Islamic period in the Iberian Peninsula with contemporary ceramic approaches.
