On offer is a genuine antique later 1900s Australian Colonial ( pre Federation in 1901 ) hard to find Full cedar Cylinder top Writing Desk / Writing Table made from and finished in full Cedar ( Toona Ciliata / Red Cedar ) and has a feature recessed rectangular panel on the cylinder of rare figured Musk Wood separated from the outer banding by a fine line inlay.
The desk features a three sided nicely profiled gallery, a pull out writing slide and a well fitted interior comprising of a pair of drawers and shelves. The drawers each have an outer banding line inlay and a musk panel plus turned turned timber and brass drop handles.
The frieze section has a pair of side by side Drawers finished with an outer banding and musk panels with line inlay so as to match the cylinder top. The cylinder and frieze drawers have matching all brass drop drawer pulls.
Supported on removable square tapered legs with spade feet in the century earlier Sheraton manner. The legs are connected with steel threaded rods.
Condition: Excellent original commensurate with age and use. The lock is deficient.
