About this piece
Matching Italian suite comprising a 3.1 m sideboard with original mirror and a coordinating glass-front cabinet, both stamped Mobili Luciano Galimberti, Lissone (Milano). Purchased from the original Italian family who brought the pieces to Australia in the 1960s, this suite represents Milanese cabinetmaking of the period.
The sideboard features a single-slab marble top, beautifully figured timber veneers, and fine inlaid detailing. Its original mirror, complete with carved crest, retains the intended scale and presentation.
The accompanying cabinet continues the same craftsmanship, with a glass front and striking red and gilt interior panels.
Both pieces are well made and in good condition for their age, with a rich polish and a clean, stable structure. Not mass-produced; a substantial suite suited to larger interiors or a collector setting.
