This is a charming and petite sized genuine antique French later 1800s or early 1900s Side Cabinet of compact size. The Cabinet is finished in light ‘ honey’ coloured nicely figured Walnut with complimentary decorative cross bandings. The cabinet is further embellished with the application of well cast applied brass mounts.
The style is transitional as the upper cabinet is more Louis XVI style with a rectangular cabinet with a concave curved cornice and a three sided brass gallery above. The cabinet has a pair of glazed display doors with a shelved cabinet behind. The lower table section is very much in the Louis XV manner with its serpentine form and tall elegant curved and tapered cabriole legs. The frieze section has a pair of side by side drawers.
