Compact French walnut dresser, late 1800s to early 1900s, executed in the earlier 18th‑century manner and comprising a removable open dresser top on a base.
The top section provides a full‑width shelf above a lower central cupboard with an arched‑panel door, a lower drawer with a curved, sloping front, and short shelves to either side. The vertical backboards are painted with multiple medieval scenes against a blue‑green ground.
The rectangular base features a deep, wide central door flanked by two smaller cupboards of the same depth. The top surface, drawers and cupboard doors are crossbanded and line‑inlaid in herringbone, and retain their original brass drawer and door pulls. The piece stands on four corner‑set cabriole legs with carved knees and circular pad feet.
Condition: Excellent, commensurate with age and use. Complete with key.
