Upper Section: Features a decorative pierced fretwork or scalloped valance cornice over open display shelving, flanked by two arched-panel side cupboards and small base drawers.
This specific type of country furniture originates from the Loire Valley and central provincial regions of France. Regional Markers: The Wood Choice: The lush Loire Valley and central fruit-growing regions of France historically provided an abundance of wild cherry wood. Local artisans favoured it over northern oak or southern walnut due to its fine grain, easy workability, and rich honey-toned patina.
