About this piece
Side table in marble and caviuna wood by Giuseppe Scapinelli.
Giuseppe Scapinelli, an Italian-born architect, immigrated to Brazil in 1948 and settled in São Paulo. He began designing furniture in the early 1950s and soon established his own factory, producing finely crafted pieces for distinctive homes. His work is characterised by soft, curved lines, a futuristic sensibility and a strong formal identity. Drawing on his knowledge of ceramics, architecture and sculpture, Scapinelli’s furniture places him among the noted masters of Brazilian mid-century modern.
