About this piece
Antique French mid-19th century console/hall/side table in French oak and solid mahogany, topped with a thick slab of Italian Portofino marble.
The front apron follows a serpentine line and houses a full-width oak-lined drawer. Raised foliate carvings sit to either side of the apron and continue onto the knees of the solid mahogany cabriole legs, which are shaped and tapered. The marble top features a double-edge moulding and a generous overhang that mirrors the serpentine profile below. Oak sections are finished in imported mahogany.
Refurbished by the now-retired Eastern Suburbs ‘society’ restorer Robert Collins.

- Marble: small chip to the back left-hand corner (restoration possible if required).
