This large W A S Benson copper tray is decorated with an embossed Art Nouveau pattern of tulips. The shape number of the tray is 726A, and is illustrated on page 254 of Ian Hamerton's book "W. A. S. Benson". William Arthur Smith Benson was an English architect and one of the leading lights of the Arts and Crafts movement, designing both buildings and iconic metalware. This tray measures 593 mm (23.5 inches) in width and 362 mm (14.5 inches) in depth. It is in very good conditions and dates from around 1905.
