Circular tilt-top centre/dining table from the later Regency to George IV period (c. 1820), crafted in selected imported Central American/Brazilian rosewood now showing a deep honey colour with bold, abstract figuring. The circular top features two outer concentric brass line inlays.
The two-tier central support column is octagonal in section with octagonal collars. A flat triform base with curved sides continues the brass detailing, with line inlay to the top surface and a horizontal double parallel line inlay to the vertical faces, complementing the tabletop. Below are protruding petal-motif carved flattened bun feet with castor assemblies beneath.
The top tilts for storage and can be removed for transport.
Condition: Presented in as-is good condition. One brass inlay section is loose and requires re-laying. The table would benefit from general professional refurbishment.
Brass-inlaid rosewood was noted as rare and highly desirable in the period and is now comparatively scarce; examples of this age, quality and style are uncommon.
