A rare and complete lounge suite by celebrated Danish mid-century designer Illum Wikkelsø (1919–1999) - one of Scandinavia's most sought-after names in postwar furniture design.
The suite comprises a three-seater sofa and two matching armchairs, upholstered in aged buffalo leather with a warm, lived-in patina.
Complete matching suites of this kind are exceptionally rare to find; most pieces surface individually on the secondary market.
Wikkelsø trained under Kaare Klint, a widely regarded as the father of modern Danish furniture, and went on to produce iconic designs for manufacturers including Holger Christiansen, Niels Eilersen and Søren Willadsen.
His work is held in museum collections worldwide and continues to be highly prized by collectors.
The leather shows visible wear consistent with its age and presents a genuine restoration opportunity - reupholstery would transform this suite into a showpiece. The frames are solid and structurally sound.
