Details

Very clean and tidy example of a popular, ground-breaking design from Charles & Ray Eames. Originally conceived and produced in fibreglass in 1950, the chair immediately became a hit. Available in a number of colours and with a variety of bases, the rocker is still the most coveted.

This bright and sunny, lime coloured chair was manufactured by Herman Miller (US) in 2011 and is made from 100% recyclable polypropylene giving the shell a subtle matt texture that is delightfully tactile and durable. The base is chromed steel with a timber rocker - all in great condition.

On the underside there has been a repair to one of the fixings (see images), that is very common on this design. The repair appears to have been done professionally and is unlikely to impact the chair in the future. None of this is visible when the chair is in use.

Still available new at a little over $1700 (with a 2 month wait!), this model is very collectible and a lovely corner piece in a child's room or reading nook.

Although adult size, the chair is low slung with a minimal footprint.
