About this piece
Previously held in David Bromley's art gallery, this sculptural pendant is a wide, open ring of hand-finished fibreglass, marbled in blue-grey and white with a warm, contrasting tone inside the loop. The maker isn't known to us, this is a custom, one-off piece rather than a mass-produced design, sourced through the gallery rather than created there.
The form is essentially a torus, open through the centre, suspended from a single fine cable rather than a solid drop, so the marbled shell reads almost like a piece of carved stone floating in the room rather than a conventional lampshade. The interior surface catches the light directly, glowing from within once the bulb is lit rather than simply casting light downward.
Very good condition, with only minor vintage marks.
Dimensions: 56cm wide, 55cm high, 15cm deep. Suspended by wire, fitted with a 2m flex cable and Australian plug, ready to install.
A genuine statement piece for a stairwell, entry or double-height room. Available to view in our Torquay showroom.
