This is an excellent example of an unusual and quality, genuine, antique, English ,early Victorian ‘serpentine’ top ‘basket base’ Centre Table or Loo Table.
The rare serpentine shaped top with its ‘lamb tongue’ edge molding is finished in selected beautifully figured prestigious imported Central American Brazilian Rosewood and sits upon a correspondingly shaped shallow apron. The top is supported by four cabriole shaped carved and scrolled supports from the base to the apron and this forms the ‘basket base’. From the cylindrical base with its large turned top finial flow four down ward and outward swept solid Rosewood tapered legs embellished with foliate carved knees and upward scrolled feet with original brass and white porcelain castor assemblies beneath.
Condition: The whole is in excellent condition commensurate with its age.
