A quirky stick or umbrella stand for the hallway in the shape of a brass bound oak barrel. Made in the same way as a normal barrel with the oak staves held together by the brass bands, this one stands 460 mm (18 inches) high, with a diameter of 300 mm (12 inches). Made in France it dates from the late 1940's or early 1950's. It is in good condition.
