Details

Designer MCM Eames era pieces. In terrific vintage condition, these highly collectible chairs are heavy, durable and superbly made. Having designed everything from kettles to TV sets, German born, Richard Sapper worked with architect Gio Ponti before starting his solo career and designing pieces for Alessi, Artemide, B&B Italia and in 1979, the manufacturers of these chairs, Knoll International.

At the time of his death in 2015, he had fifteen objects in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Originally assembled and retailed in Sydney by Artes Studios - before they became Space Furniture - these beautiful chairs have sat quietly in a corporate boardroom since the late 80s/early 90s. The Artes Studio branding is apparent on the chairs, see pics.

The black leather is thick, soft and supple, the tilt/height adjustments are fully operational and any scuffs or signs of use are minimal.

Perfect chair to use as an ergonomically sturdy and well-constructed home-office chair, boardroom chair or an inexpensive way to equip a full design/architectural practice.

Very collectible with many, many years of use left in them.
