A handsome pair of vintage Spanish revival chairs with tall shaped backs upholstered in warm tan leather and finished with traditional studded detailing. Crafted in what appears to be oak, the design reflects the rustic Mediterranean and Spanish revival styles popular through the mid 20th century. The leather has developed a rich patina over time with natural wear, tonal variation and markings that give them plenty of character. The oak frames feature turned legs and decorative stretcher bars, lending them a classic old world feel and a lovely sense of weight and warmth. Their tall backs and relatively narrow footprint make them particularly suited to a hallway or entry, placed either side of a console, or used as striking occasional chairs in a living room, study or library. The underside reveals traditional webbed seat support and the chairs remain solid and sturdy. There is visible wear to the leather and timber consistent with age and use, which only adds to their timeworn appeal. Sold as a pair.
