About this piece
A vivid, deep-blue glass catch-all with a clean square silhouette and substantial, heavy walls. Its block-cut form gives it a sculptural mid-century character, while the rich cobalt-to-electric blue hue ensures that it will stand out on display. The thick, high-quality glass shows excellent clarity and colour saturation throughout, with only some surface wear consistent with age and use. No chips or cracks are found, this piece is in very good vintage condition considering it’s age.
Sourced in Melbourne, you can find a hand-etched signature on the base reading, “Collezzione Vetreria Oball, Murano Venetia”, which is consistent with the Vetreria Artistically Oball studio in Murano, Italy.
