About this piece
This antique Chinese cabinet is crafted from solid elm and was sourced from Shanxi, where it was made around 150 years ago. It has two drawers above a pair of doors, a traditional metal lock plate at the centre, and a top that extends slightly at each end in the classic Chinese style.
The deep, dark lacquer has worn back in places to show the timber underneath, giving it wonderful depth and patina. It's a great size for a hallway, dining room or bedroom, and works beautifully as a small sideboard, bar cabinet or linen cupboard.
