About this piece

Genuine antique English Georgian Regency period circular convex wall mirror, early 1800s. The turned timber frame has a gesso ground beneath a gilt finish, with an internal arch moulding complemented by a ring of balls. Within sits a black ebonised reeded slip and a later bevelled convex mirrored plate.

The crest features a stylised rocky mound with a platform supporting an ebonised carved timber eagle with outspread wings and a turned head. Flanking the frame are opposed scrolls of trailing leaves.

Dimensions: 63 cm W x 94 cm H

Condition: Very good overall. Not entirely original due to later gilding to the frame; the convex mirrored plate is a later replacement.
