During this era, Italian architects and designers influenced by Rationalism moved away from heavy, pre-war ornamentation. Instead, they embraced industrial materials like iron to create furniture that felt weightless yet structurally rigid, drawing lines in space rather than occupying it with mass.
This specific design utilises flat-bar steel, a technique favoured in the mid-20th century for its ability to create strong, graphic silhouettes that mimic the steel skeletons of modern architecture.
The chair’s profile is defined by a continuous, stark geometry. The side frame forms a sharp architectural triangle, offering a dynamic visual stance that changes depending on the viewing angle.
