A breathtaking synthesis of Japanese craftsmanship and Mid-Century Modern exuberance, this Iwatsu Glass vase is a premier example of the Hineri (twisted) technique.
Produced in Osaka during the movement’s 1960s–70s zenith, this particular vessel features the elusive "Rainbow" colorway, a sophisticated, multi-tonal fusion of cerulean blue, madder pink, and citron yellow.
The artistry lies in the suspension of pigment; as the glass is hand-manipulated, the colors bleed and overlap, creating an ethereal spectrum of violet and amber that shifts dynamically with the light.
Unlike pieces destined for export that are marked Hineri Glass, this incredible vase was distributed by Kamei Glass and retains its original "IW Art Glass" label, identifying it as a rare market find originally sold within Japan.
