Details

This intensely red design was produced by Villeroy and Boch in the 1980s and was part of the ‘same Milano’ series as the very popular ‘Acapulco’.

The deep velvety red is made more intense with the use of a soft almost black highlight at the rim and base where the glaze is thinner. A lovely piece in the hand as well.

This series was very popular here in Australia, and still very much sought after.

It was only in production for a short time from 1983-1986. These pieces were not back-stamped, but had a gold foil label - which has come off most of these pieces.

A very hard porcelain, with a very tough glaze - stated to be dishwasher proof - although I would not put any collectable ceramics in the dishwasher as the glaze deteriorates over the long term.

The 4 cups and saucers show minimal signs of use or wear. They are a demitasse size, so larger than an espresso cup but smaller than a coffee cup.

Cup is 6.5cm diameter x 7.5cm tall, and the saucer is 15.5cm in diameter.
