Empoli Cobalt Blue Oval Optic Brandy Balloon 21cm

The municipality of Empoli is approximately 30 kms south-west of Florence, in the region of Tuscany, Italy. 

Glass making in the Empoli region of Italy has a history which dates to the 1500s.

Glassmaking in Empoli reached its peak in the 1950s through to the early 1970s. Decorative decanters, vessels, vases and the like were exported and sold at various department stores in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

This glassware is now highly collectible.

This brandy balloon has been produced in a bright cobalt blue glass with a clear twisted stem. It has an oval optic design with a fluted top.

It is 21cm tall and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage.

All hand blown glassware can show small bubbles which are part of the blowing process.
