About this piece
This solid two-drawer cabinet hails from Shandong in northeast China, where craftspeople built furniture built to last. Heavy-framed and beautifully proportioned, it features wide legs that anchor an overhanging top, with carved spandrels and apron that add movement and grace to its sturdy form. The original finish has mellowed into a gorgeous patina over the years—you can see the marks of real use and time, which is part of its charm.
It's the kind of piece that works hard in a room while looking effortlessly elegant.
