Description: Dating to circa 1880, this antique English chest of drawers is crafted from mahogany and beautifully figured flame mahogany veneers, showcasing the rich colour and grain that made these timbers so highly prized during the Victorian period.
The serpentine front adds elegance to the overall form, while turned cylindrical columns frame the drawer fronts, enhancing the chest's architectural appearance. The original mahogany drawer handles are inlaid with mother of pearl, providing a refined decorative detail that complements the figured timber.
The drawer configuration consists of a full-width secret drawer above two short drawers, over three full-width graduating drawers, offering generous and practical storage for clothing, linen or household items.
