A mid-20th century Italian clear glass serving set by Spa “Lubiana Kristall”, comprising a large pineapple-form bowl and six matching smaller bowls. Each piece is mould-pressed with a stylised pineapple texture. The set embodies the playful yet refined aesthetic of 1970s Italian tableware, produced for both domestic use and export markets. The larger bowl retains its original label reading “Made in Italy spa Lubiana.”
Stylistic Context:
Italian glass production in the post-war decades extended beyond artisanal centres into broader commercial manufacturing. During the 1960s and 1970s, textured and naturalistic motif, such as fruit forms, became popular in entertaining wares. Pineapple-pattern glass, in particular, reflects a wider trend toward tactile surfaces and visually engaging table settings.
Condition:
