These are a very good set of 8 genuine antique 19th century 8 Louis Phillipe dining chairs including 2 larger carver chairs with arms for the ends of the table and 6 side chairs. The chairs are made in the Louis XV manner with elongated balloon backs curved side seat rails serpentine front seat rails which flow into the cabriole shaped curved and tapered front legs which are complete with their original castor assemblies. The chairs are embellished with refined decorative carving to the centre of the top rail and along the front seat rail.
The elegant and attractive ' show timber' frames are made from solid Beech and the seats have sprung upholstery with hand stitched and rolled edges plus a padded back.which both add to the comfort for periods of extended comfort.
Condition: Due to the chairs being now in excess of 150 plus year old previously untouched condition some require conservations and general refurbishment which we can have professionally done if required.
