Details

This is a very good example of a genuine antique French 19th century Display Cabinet in the manner of the famous French cabinetmaker Andre Charles Boulle 1642 - 1732 who perfected the art of marquetry also known as inlay into an Ebony surface. He specialised in brass, Pewter and tortoiseshell inlays. This 19th Century Ebonised Cabinet has intricate Brass inlays and is further embellished with quality and well cast applied Bronze mounts and moldings.

the Cabinet is of upright rectangular form with a single full height glazed front door which reveals a velvet lined interior with two shelves creating three compartments for display of silver, glass, or other types of collectables and or books etc. The Cabinet also has two full height side glazed panels for extra light admission and for better viewing of what ever may be on display inside.

The top has a three sided cast brass gallery and a concave pediment and the whole is supported on a plinth base.
